Want to mix it up for Mother’s Day this year? Whether you’ll be celebrating safely in person or virtually, here are some ideas that our team are planning for our own moms.
Not your typical Mother’s Day bouquet
For a fun change from the usual bouquet, spend some time making your own floral arrangements with mom! Buy foliage and flowers from your local wholesale flower market or Trader Joe’s and let your creativity bloom. If you’re celebrating virtually, send mom her own DIY floral design kit from a company like Poppy Flowers and make floral arrangements together over the magic of the internet.
An alternative to a trip to Napa
Does mom appreciate a good wine? Build your own tasting flight of a few wines and pair them with a few snackable cheeses, olives, and cured meats. Compare tasting notes (or make them up) and pretend like you’re in a Napa vineyard together.
Create a smorgasbord of mom’s favorite foods
Plan a picnic featuring a spread of mom’s favorite foods and indulgences. If you can’t be together on Mother’s Day, order her favorite foods for delivery and send her to the park where you can picnic together via FaceTime.
Bring out your mom’s inner child
Is your mom a competitive board game player? Plan a virtual game night and introduce her to what all the kids are playing these days. Among Us, anyone?
